In a true underdog story, the Zakowski Motorsports/All Terrain Research team has walked away with the Pro-Utility win at the 3rd annual GBC Motorsports Heartland 10-Hour Challenge. After soaring temperatures in the mid nineties and almost 100 percent humidity, the trio of GNCC championship chasers Zac Zakowski, Kevin Tranthem, and Scott Kilby sacrificed everything they had in order to pull off the win, finishing an amazing 36m: 26s ahead of 2 time Heartland Challenge champs.
The day started off decent with team head, Zac Zakowski, performing the le-mans style start and heading into the woods 3rd. After a mere mile or two Zakowski had overtaken the lead and continued to put some distance between him and 2nd. Read more...

These days there is rarely a dull moment in my life, even while recovering from a near life ending injury. While practicing in Texas recently I managed to land myself short of the “sweet spot” and in the ICU. Injuries sustained included a broken shoulder, a fractured skull and a rather large gash to the back of my head. All things considered my time in the hospital wasn’t all that unpleasant but after sitting in bed for ten days, I was ready to get out and back on my feet. Little did I know the excitement I was in for, before I would ever even make it back home. Read more...

If the first few months of 2010 are any evidence of things to come, Colten Moore is in for the most exciting and eventful year of his life. From Winter X Games in Aspen, to X Nights in Panama and a few more stops at home and abroad, Colten landed himself a spot on the biggest freestyle motocross tour ever to hit US soil. The Nuclear Cowboyz made their way across the United States in the earlier part of 2010 and the Bomb Squad’s Colten Moore joined them for the final three stops on tour. Read more...

Before I became actively involved in the industry, I dreamed about building a custom race quad. Money is no option, the best parts, the most bling and someone just wants me to put it together for them. A little while back I finally got my chance as Dirt Wheels Magazine asked us to assemble a race ready Polaris Outlaw. I’ve definitely built quads before but nothing quite this extravagant. It was a unique weekend for round 9 of the GNCC circuit this past Saturday, as everyone made the trip to the famous Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia. Team rider Zac Zakowski had an astonishing race to end on as we head into summer break. Zac took the holeshot on the Grand Prix style start and would hold onto the lead for the entire first lap. After battling fiercely all day on the very treacherous West Virginia track, swapping for the lead multiple times during the day, Zac would finish a close 5 seconds behind first place to bring home the silver and a successful 5th overall Read more...

Once upon a time, I conquered the back flip on a trampoline. Some years later I witnessed my first motorcycle back flip and was truly amazed. Last fall while in Vegas, I watched Caleb Moore pull back flip after back flip on his quad and only one word came to mind; burly. What’s more is after a few attempts he started throwing flip variations. What was equally as exciting was witnessing the group of dirt bike riders nodding their heads in approval and exclaiming their awe for what they to had just witnessed. No one can deny the legitimacy of quad freestyle. Read more...

Three rounds into the 2010 GNCC series, Cecco Racing’s, Rick Cecco holds down third place in the points chase after a top ten class finish at Steel Creek.
Cecco grabbed the holeshot in the 4×4 Open class and led briefly before settling in to second. There was a tough three-way battle with Bryan Buckhannon, Zac Zakowski and Cecco through the entire first lap. The battle began to carry over to the second lap until complications arose. “I notice the bike starting to pull to the left. I looked down and noticed my front tire was going flat. I kept pushing in hopes of holding my position until I was able to get to the pits to get it fixed,” stated Cecco. Unfortunately, for Cecco, he would end up hitting a stump. The impact was so great that it jerked the bars out of his hands and bent his tie rod. Read more...

Another ATR First! We designed this Power Steering System for the Polaris Sportsman using the latest in electric power steering technology. The system senses torque from driver input and seamlessly engages the motor to drastically reduce steering effort. The system also uses a sensor to read all steering kick back and the motor absorbs hard impacts that would normally knock the handle bars out of your hands. This power steering is so responsive it is also ideal for racing such as in the GNCC series. With the unit absorbing all steering kick back it gives a definite competitive advantage. The system is a bolt on install (minus minimal wiring) and comes with detailed installation instructions.
